I am a college student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in the field of computer science at the Colorado School of Mines. I began my career in computer science by developing webpages for computer games at the age of 12. Shortly after I finished my first webpage I started to learn other programming languages: Visual Basic, C++, PHP, Javascript and MySQL. Since then my desire to learn more and more about programming has only increased, which is what brought me to the Colorado School of Mines.
I wanted to refine my programming skills and learn more about lower level programming to make myself more marketable to prospective employers. Attending the Colorado School of Mines presented the perfect opportunity to do this. Now, as a senior, I feel like I have learned so much since I began at Mines, and I know my last year will allow me to learn even more.
Since I started programming eight years ago, I've had a variety of jobs, including an internship at Information Handling Services where I recieved on-site training through a variety of assignments and research opportunities. This experience has helped me to learn many things about emerging technologies in the workforce. I'm seeking to expand these skills and challenge myself in new and interesting ways.
Please feel free to check out projects that I have listed on this site and my resume if you'd like to see my previous work experience. I try to update my blog whenever I have time with various tips and tricks that I have either learned from school or in my free time, and recently an article that I wrote was featured on the site Lifehacker.com (if you use Remember the Milk, you may want to check it out).
